Garett Tujague: Mormon Coach

Garett Tujague is the offensive line coach at the University of Virginia under head coach Bronco Mendenhall. He was Mendenhall’s offensive line coach at Brigham Young University from 2013 to 2015.

Prior to coaching at BYU, he coached at the College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, California, for fifteen years, the last six as head coach. He was named the Southern California Football Association National Conference Coach of the Year in 2008 following a 12-1 season. He was also honored as the Western States Conference Co-Coach of the Year in 2007 after a 9-3 record. He coached at Chabot College from 1993 to 1995 and the University of Redlands from 1996 to 1997.

Tujague is from Pleasanton, California, and played left guard under LaVell Edwards at BYU from 1989 to 1991. BYU won the conference championship all three seasons Tujague was at the university.

Tujague and his wife, Cami, are the parents of three children. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He earned his bachelor’s degree in recreational management from BYU and his master’s in educational counseling from the University of Redlands.
