Jason Beck Mormon Coach

Jason Beck is the quarterbacks coach at the University of Virginia. He is among the group of former Brigham Young University coaches who went with Bronco Mendenhall when he left BYU after the 2015 season for the position of head coach at Virginia.

Beck graduated from Hueneme High School in Oxnard, California, and played college football at Ventura College and the College of the Canyons. He was a quarterback at BYU between 2004 and 2006. He became an offensive intern at BYU in 2007. He gleaned more experience as an offensive intern at Louisiana State University under offensive coordinator Gary Crowton in 2008. He became the quarterbacks coach at Weber State under head coach Ron McBride from 2009 to 2011. He was offensive coordinator in 2012 at Simon Fraser in British Columbia, Canada, the only NCAA school outside of the United States. He was the quarterbacks coach at BYU under Mendenhall from 2013 to the end of 2015.

Beck is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission to Denver, Colorado. He and his wife, Jaime, are the parents of one child. He earned a bachelor’s and master’s in communications from BYU.
