Kathryn Lee Moss: Mormon Director
Kathryn Lee Moss is a director and writer of both live theater and film. She wrote and directed Resistance Movement, and the Emmy-winning television documentary A Time for Resistance. She wrote the stage play first, then seeing its impact on people, she decided to create a film trailer for the play. While editing the footage, she saw its potential as a film. The film tells the true story of teenagers Helmuth Hübener, Rudi Wobbe, and Karl-Heinz Schnibbe who formed a resistance group in Hamburg during the Nazi Germany period.
Moss is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 2013, she participated in the Religion Today Film Festival in Italy; the first Mormon to participate in the festival.
Moss received her Bachelor of Fine Art degree in theater from Utah State University. She then earned her master’s degree in directing from the University of London. She directs plays, musicals, and operas in the United States and England.
She and her husband, Brandon, are the parents of three children and live in Utah.
