After struggling with infertility for eight years, Tyson and Ashley Gardner decided to have in vitro fertilization (IVF). During the procedure, two eggs were extracted, fertilized, and placed. Both eggs split and against the odds (a 1 in 70 million chance) the two sets of embryos were identical twins. The four girls were born on December 28, 2014. The first set of twins are Indie and Esme, and the second set of twins are Scarlett and Evangeline.
