Daniel K Judd

Daniel K Judd is a professor of Ancient Scripture and associate dean in the College of Religious Education at Brigham Young University. From 2004 to 2009, he served as first counselor in the Sunday School general presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has served in the Church as a bishop and stake president. He also served as a full-time missionary in the California San Diego Mission. From 2011 to 2014 he presided over the Ghana Accra Mission.

Judd earned a bachelor’s degree in zoology from Southern Utah University and holds a master’s degree in family science and a PhD in counseling psychology from BYU. He was a seminary and institute teacher in the Church Educational System and a professor of family science at BYU-Idaho. He is the author or editor of several books, including The Fortunate Fall, Taking Sides: Clashing Views on Controversial Issues in Religion, Hard Questions, Prophetic Answers: Doctrinal Perspectives on Difficult Contemporary Issues, The Simpleness of the Way, and Religion, Mental Health, and the Latter-day Saints.

He was born on September 17, 1956, in Kanab, Utah. He and his wife, Kaye, are the parents of four children.
