Book of Mormon Central
Book of Mormon Central is a group comprised of “ardent students” of the Book of Mormon “working together to share the wonders of this inspired masterpiece with the world.”[1] It began operating in 2015.
The mission of Book of Mormon Central is “to increase understanding and faithful engagement with the Book of Mormon” and “to build enduring faith in Jesus Christ by making the Book of Mormon accessible, comprehensible, and defensible to the entire world.” According to the organization’s website, this mission is accomplished in several ways, most notably through a robust archive of “textual, visual, and audio resources” that are updated regularly.[2] Commentary on the current curriculum for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is also available from the website.
The team at Book of Mormon Central includes John W. Welch, the original founder of FARMS (The Foundation for Ancient Research and Mormon Studies), and a number of researchers, writers, editors, reviewers, archivists, web and mobile developers, web designers, graphic artists, illustrators, audio and video engineers, social media publishers, and others.
Book of Mormon Central is part of the Book of Mormon Archaeological Forum, Inc., a non-profit organization formed in 2004 in Utah.
