Adhemar Damiani
Adhemar Damiani was a General Authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Second Quorum of the Seventy from April 1999 to October 2005. He also served as an Area Seventy, president of the Brazil Curitiba Mission, counselor in the presidency of the São Paulo Missionary Training Center, regional welfare agent, stake president’s counselor, high councilor, bishop, and Sunday School teacher. He served as president of the Campinas Brazil Temple from 2005 to 2007.
Born on December 18, 1939, he was a native of Brazil. He was serving as a pastor’s assistant in São Paulo, Brazil, when he was contacted by Latter-day Saint missionaries and was baptized in May 1961. He graduated from the University of Economic Sciences in São Paulo and was awarded an advanced degree in business administration from the Getulio Vargas Foundation of São Paulo. He spent his professional career as an owner and partner at DESA Tecnologia, director of Automatic Data Processing Systems, a systems analyst at Sandoz, Brazil S.A., and as chief of personnel at Heluma S.A. Industrial and Commercial and Real Credit Bank of Minas Gerais.
Damiani and his wife, Walkyria Bronze Damiani, had two children and five grandchildren. He passed away on June 16, 2013, in São Paulo, Brazil.
