Peter F. Meurs is a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was sustained at General Conference on April 2, 2016. He has served as elders quorum president, bishop, stake president, branch and district president, and ward organist. He also served as an Area Seventy.

He was born on December 21, 1956, in Warrnambool, Victoria, Australia. He studied mechanical engineering at Monash University in Melbourne before serving a full-time mission. He later earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and worked as a project engineer for ESSO Australia. He was a founding partner of WorleyParsons Limited. He was serving as director of development for Fortescue Metals—a high-profile oil, gas, and mineral executive position—at the time of his call to full-time Church service, which made headlines in Australian news sources.

Meurs and his wife, Maxine, are the parents of four children.
