Clerk

A clerk in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serves under the direction of a stake president or ward bishop and has record-keeping responsibilities. He is a Melchizedek Priesthood holder and is worthy to have a temple recommend.

The stake clerk provides administrative support and has various duties, including record keeping of assignments, preparing records and reports (financial and membership), collecting historical records, and maintaining the Church-approved stake website. He is familiar with and prepares audit reports submitted regularly to Church headquarters. He also trains and works with ward clerks who carry out similar duties on the ward level.
