Garth Smith: Mormon Pianist

Garth Smith is a pianist and arranger. He has released four CDs, A Sacred Christmas, Behold the Great Redeemer, How Beautiful Thy Temples, and Sacred Hymns. His music is also available on YouTube and has a Pandora channel. He has created a multimedia fireside, The Hymns: Another Witness of Jesus Christ, that he presents throughout the United States.

Smith was born in Brigham City, Utah, and his mother, JoAnne, noticed his musical abilities and began teaching him piano when he was five years old. A year later, he began classical piano lessons with another teacher.

After serving as a full-time missionary, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Design Engineering Technology from Brigham Young University. He and his wife, Diane, live in California.
