Glenn Rawson
Glenn Rawson is a teacher, radio and television personality, writer, and producer. He considers himself foremost a storyteller. His philosophy is borrowed from Abraham Lincoln who said, “They say I tell a great many stories. I reckon I do, but I’ve learned from long experience that plain people . . . are more easily influenced through the medium of a broad and humorous illustration than in any other way.”[1]
Rawson was born on a ranch in Idaho. He taught Seminary and Institute in the Church Educational System and frequently spoke at Especially for Youth sessions. Beginning in 1997, he became the voice for the radio program “Sounds of Sunday” which syndicated in 2005. He began working with Dennis Lyman and others in 2008 on half hour documentaries on Latter-day Saint Church history and is the writer, producer, and host of those episodes on KJZZ television’s "The Joseph Smith Papers" and KSL television’s "History of the Saints" series. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He and Lyman have produced numerous books, DVDs, and CDs. Rawson’s collection of inspirational stories, In the Midst of Thee, was published in 2009 (two volumes). He coauthored with Alexander J. Baugh Tragedy and Truth: What Happened at Hawn's Mill (2014), and with Susan Easton Black The Story of the Provo City Center Temple, Commemorative Edition (2015). He also began a website "Glenn Rawson Stories" in 2020 and patrons can receive free stories each week.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in wildlife and range management from Brigham Young University, his master’s degree in educational administration from Idaho State University, and is pursuing a PhD in political science and constitutional law.
He and his wife, Debra, are the parents of seven children.
