Robert DeRosa: Mormon Photographer
Robert Anthony DeRosa is an urban landscape photographer. His work has been published in Photo District News, Photoshop User, and Real World Digital Photography, third edition. His work has been exhibited in a solo show at the Brooklyn College Library and has appeared in numerous juried shows.
He enjoyed photography as a hobby for many years from childhood to adulthood, while he worked in marketing and finance. After he lost his job at age 61—and therefore retired—he made his hobby a full-time pursuit. He took graduate classes at the School of Visual Arts where he earned his master’s degree in digital photography. He also was honored with the Paula Rhodes Memorial Award for Excellence in Photography.
He grew up in Brooklyn and worked on images of Coney Island for several years, which he is compiling into a book. His images have been exhibited in Capture Brooklyn, Optic Nerve, and Provocation juried shows.
He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having been baptized while in college. He and his wife, Rebekah, are the parents of one daughter.
