Katie Kortman, a fashion designer and artist, appeared on season 19 (2021) of "Project Runway." She is known for her custom singular and colorful prints. Her Lush & Wild fabric collection is available with Amazon and Fabric.com. She features a “wear happy color” in March annually on her Instagram account and teaches about color.

Katie lives in Japan with her husband and four children. With his military assignments, they have lived in various places throughout the world, including Bahrain, where she decided to hone her sewing skills and fell in love with fashion. She made all her own clothes and also learned how to design her own prints. She designed for Spoonflower and blogged for them.

Katie is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and at the time of her appearance on "Project Runway," she was serving as Relief Society president.

She was born in St. Louis, Missouri, but considers West Palm Beach, Florida, as her hometown. She attended a middle school and high school for the arts before earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in drawing and painting from Brigham Young University. She also has a master’s degree in teaching art. She was a display artist for Anthropologie in the Chicago suburbs and in Utah.

Appearing on "Project Runway" had long been a dream of hers and she credits Heavenly Father with being aware of her dreams and helping her achieve them.
