Chase Hansen is a professional football linebacker for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League. He signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2019. He was waived on May 10, but re-signed four days later. He missed the rookie season due to a back injury.

Although Hansen made his NFL debut on September 13, 2020, in the season opener, he was placed on injured reserve on October 3, 2020. He was then activated on November 13, 2020. He was waived on November 24, then re-signed to the practice squd two days later. On January 2, 2021, he was elevated to the active roster for the team’s week 17 game, but reverted to the practice squad after the game. He was elevated again on January 8 and January 16, but reverted back to the practice squad after each game. On January 18, 2021, he signed a reserve/futures contract with the Saints. On September 18, he was placed on injured reserve, activated on November 8, then released the next day. He was signed to the practice squad on November 13.

Hansen was born on May 20, 1993, in Provo, Utah. He played for the University of Utah and left after his freshman year to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brisbane, Australia. After concluding his mission, he returned to the U of U and played both quarterback and safety as a redshirt freshman. As a senior, he was named first team All-Pac-12 and a second team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America and Sporting News.

Hansen earned a bachelor’s degree in consumer and community studies with an emphasis in financial planning. He minored in sociology.
