Steven C. Walker
Steven C. Walker is a retired English professor and taught at Brigham Young University. He specializes in Victorian and modern British literature and has focused his research on the Bible as literature.
Walker was a graduate coordinator for seven years and an associate chair of the English Department for five years. He regularly taught the Bible as literature and later British literature. He has been Honors Professor of the Year, has been Teacher of the Year in the department fourteen times, was awarded a Karl G. Maeser Distinguished Teaching Award in 1989, was honored as the inaugural Brigham Young University Alumni Professor in 1992, and was later named Nan Osmond Grass Professor. He retired in 2013.
A 2012 book “The 300 Best Professors” published in 2012 included Steve Walker in its list.
Walker holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from BYU. He earned his PhD in English from Harvard University.
