Valley of Gilgal

The Valley of Gilgal is a place that plays prominently in the last battles of the Jaredites in the Book of Mormon's Book of Ether. It is mentioned in 3 Nephi 9:6, "And behold, the city of Gilgal have I caused to be sunk, and the inhabitants thereof to be buried up in the depths of the earth"; Mormon 6:14, "And Lamah had fallen with his ten thousand; and Gilgal had fallen with his ten thousand; and Limhah had fallen with his ten thousand; and Jeneum had fallen with his ten thousand; and Cumenihah, and Moronihah, and Antionum, and Shiblom, and Shem, and Josh, had fallen with their ten thousand each"; as well as Ether 13:27, 29, 30:

And it came to pass that Coriantumr was exceedingly angry with Shared, and he went against him with his armies to battle; and they did meet in great anger, and they did meet in the valley of Gilgal; and the battle became exceedingly sore.

And it came to pass that Shared gave him battle again upon the plains; and behold, he did beat Coriantumr, and drove him back again to the valley of Gilgal.

And Coriantumr gave Shared battle again in the valley of Gilgal, in which he beat Shared and slew him.

The valley was where Coriantumr fought Shared after regaining his throne from him. Over three days the battle was fought in the valley until Shared was force to flee to the Plains of Heshlon. Coriantumr pursued him and battled him on the plains until Shared succeeded in forcing Coriantumr to fall back to the valley again. The battle would continue again in the valley until Coriantumr succeeding in killing Shared and ending the conflict.
