Brandon Davies
Brandon Davies is an American professional basketball player who played for the NBA Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets. He then played for EuroLeague. In July 2019 he signed a two-year deal with the Spanish club Barcelona. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Davies was born on July 25, 1991, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was adopted by Linda Kathleen Davies and raised in Provo, Utah. He has one brother and one sister. He played basketball for Provo High School, and his team won state titles during his sophomore and junior years. He was recruited by University of Utah, University of California–Berkeley, Utah State University, Washington State, Penn State, and Gonzaga University, but chose to play for Brigham Young University.
At BYU he was a key inside player for the team led by Jimmer Fredette. He was briefly suspended from the team for a BYU-honor code violation, but was reinstated to the team during his junior year. During his senior year he was captain of the team and named to the All-West Coast Conference team.
After his graduation from BYU in 2013, he participated in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament pre-NBA draft camp. He performed well and was named MVP of the PIT. His performance earned him an invitation to the Chicago NBA draft combine, however, he went undrafted during 2013 NBA draft. He joined the Los Angeles Clippers for the 2013 NBA Summer League and signed with the Clippers in September but was waived on October 21. He signed with the Philadelphia 76ers on October 28 and played his first NBA game on November 2, 2013.
Davies had a non-guaranteed contract for $816,000 for 2014–2015. He fractured his right small finger in January 2014, which required surgery and rehab.
In January 2015 he married Lenzie Quist.
