Britain Covey
Britain Covey is a professional football player as a wide receiver and punt returner. He signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He was waived at the start of the season and then added to the practice squad. He then was moved onto the open roster. On February 12, 2023, he played for the Eagles in Superbowl LVII against the Kansas City Chiefs. His team lost to the Chiefs 38-35, but he had two punt returns for 35 yards in the game, both in the second quarter, as the Eagles’ punt returner.[1]
At 5 foot 8 inches tall, 173 pounds, he has encountered many comments expressing doubts for him having a professional career. Covey played for the University of Utah where he was First-team All-Pac-12 three times. He was All-American in 2021.
He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a missionary for the Church in Chile. He is a grandson of world-renowned author Stephen Covey.
He is a teammate of fellow Latter-day Saint Tanner McKee. The two knew about each other but didn’t meet until 2023 when McKee was drafted by the Eagles. They became fast friends and now spend considerable time together with their wives and as members of the same Latter-day Saint ward in downtown Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.[2]
Covey and his wife, Leah, are the parents of one son.
Covey appeared in a recent “Eagles Unscripted” video, produced by the Philadelphia Eagles.
