Aubrey Frentheway Nielsen
Aubrey Frentheway Nielsen is an elite runner at Brigham Young University. She is from Cheyenne, Wyoming, where she was the Gatorade Track Athlete of the Year in 2018. She was two-time WHSAAA 4A state champion in the 1600m and 3200m. She broke the state record as a member of the 4x800m team.
She was part of the BYU women’s cross country team that won the 2021 NCAA championship. She finished the 6K race in 20:34.9 to earn All-American honors. She was the second-fastest BYU finisher. Overall she placed 15th.
Aubrey finished fourth in the 10,000m run at the Hayward Premiere in Eugene, Oregon, in April 2021. Her finish time of 33:3.49 put her no. 2 in BYU history and no. 5 in the NCAA that season.
She finished her BYU career as a four-time All-American. She graduated with a degree in math education.
West Coast Conference coaches selected her (and Anna Camp-Bennett, Sara Musselman and Whittni Orton) to the 2020-21 All-WCC Spring Preseason Women’s Cross Country Team.
She finished first in her race of the 2021 BYU Autumn Classic in Provo.
At the 2024 Portland Track Festival, she finished fourth in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 32:33.33.
