She serves as the sport administrator for women’s soccer, men’s and women’s cross country, women’s gymnastics, the spirit squads, and men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field. She also oversees human resources and gender equity for the athletic department. She has been at BYU since 2015, with previous experience as assistant women’s basketball coach at Utah Valley from 2009 to 2015.

She was appointed to serve on the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Committee, with a five-year term that begins September 1, 2024. She was named on a short list of who could replace Tom Holmoe when he retired from his position as BYU Athletic Director.[1]

Darger was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. She received a bachelor’s degree in family sciences and a master’s degree in school counseling psychology from Brigham Young University. After obtaining her master's degree, she became varsity women’s basketball coach and as a school guidance counselor at Timpanogos High School.
