Betsy Brannon Green: Mormon Author

Betsy Brannon Green is a mystery and suspense novelist whose books appeal primarily to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, of which she is a member.

Green was born on June 1, 1958, in Salt Lake City, Utah, while her father was a student at the University of Utah. After his graduation, they moved to Birmingham, Alabama, where he attended medical school. When he joined the Army, the family lived in many different cities in the United States, including Colorado Springs, Honolulu, and Fort Knox. They settled in Decatur, Alabama, where she met her husband, Robert “Butch” Green. They are the parents of eight children.

She began writing in 1999, and although publishers rejected her first novel, Utah-based Covenant Communications published her second, Hearts in Hiding, in 2001. The company published her following eighteen novels. Titles include Never Look Back, Don’t Close Your Eyes, Foul Play, Christmas in Haggerty, and Backtrack. She self-published Pivot Point in October 2012. In 2010 she was nominated for a Whitney Award for Murder by the Book.
