David James Jordan is a partner in Foley & Lardner LLP. He was the United States Attorney for the District of Utah from 1991 to 1993 and served from 1992 to 1993 as vice-chairman of the U.S. Attorney General’s Advisory Committee.

From 1997 to 2012, he was regent of the Utah System of Higher Education. He served as chair from 2010 to 2012.

Jordan is the son of Amos Jordan, and consequently was born and raised in West Point, New York. He earned his bachelor's degree at Bowdoin College and his law degree from Vanderbilt University. He was a law clerk with a federal court in Tennessee and then a lawyer with the VanCott firm. From 1989 to 1991 he was chair of the Southern Utah University Board of Trustees and again served as chair from 1993 to 1997.

Jordan and his wife, Holly, are the parents of four children and served as president and companion, respectively, of the England London Mission from 2012 to 2015. He has served as outside counsel for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
