Dustin Williams: Mormon Athletic Trainer

Dustin Williams was the head athletic trainer for the US track and field team for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He oversaw the medical treatment of the 130 American athletes and coordinated schedules and services of team physicians, medical practitioners, chiropractors, nutritionists, and sports psychologists.

Williams earned his associate degree from Ricks College, his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Utah State University. He volunteered with the US track and field during the Olympic trials in Sacramento, California, and received a year-long fellowship for the US Olympic Committee at the Olympic training enter at Lake Placid, New York, working primarily with bobsled and skeleton athletes. While he worked full-time at Brigham Young University for five years, he continued to volunteer with Olympic sports. In 2011, he became an associate athletic trainer at the University of Arizona. In 2012, he was on the medical staff for Team USA.

Williams is a native of Arco, Idaho. He is married to Olympic shot putter Jillian Camarena-Williams. They are the parents of one daughter. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
