F. Enzio Busche

Friedrich Enzio Busche is an emeritus General Authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was sustained as a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy on October 1, 1977 and was granted emeritus status on October 7, 2000.

Busche was born on April 5, 1930, in Dortmund, Germany. His family left Dortmund after the beginning of World War II, but near the end of the war, at the age of 14, Busche was drafter into the German Army for the Nazi’s final campaign. When the war ended, he returned to Dortmund and experienced the limited food supplies noted in history, often subsisting only on the molasses that had poured out of a supply train that American soldiers had attacked. He was able to complete high school and then studied for a time at universities in Bonn and Freiburg. He eventually took over his father’s printing business and built it into several partnerships and subsidiaries.

He married Jutta Baum in 1955 and they joined the Church of Jesus Christ three years later. He served in the Church as a branch clerk, elders quorum president, branch president, district president, counselor in the Central German Mission presidency, and as a regional representative of the Twelve. During part of his service as a Seventy, he served as the president of the Frankfurt Germany Temple.
