Laurel Christensen Day: Mormon Author

Laurel Christensen Day was named president of Deseret Book Company on April 15, 2021. Keith B. McMullin, CEO of Deseret Management Corp., said in a statement, "We were fortunate enough to have several strong internal and external candidates available to us. Laurel has a dynamic combination of natural leadership, creative experience and institutional knowledge that will serve Deseret Book well and makes her the right person at the right time.”[1]

Day began her career with Deseret Book as a part-time event specialist and helped reinvent and grow several areas of the company, including the Time Out for Women division where she served as general manager. She was named vice president of product and publishing in 2012. In 2018, she was promoted to senior vice president of product and consumer experience. She improved Deseret Book's retail experience and supervised the 2019 remodeling of the company's flagship store at City Creek. She also championed the brand's commitment to relevancy for its customers.[2]

She earned her bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and her master’s degree in communications management from Webster University.

Laurel blogs for Time Out for Women and is a regular speaker at both Time Out for Women and Time Out for Girls. She has published several talk CDs and books for young women, such as The Faith Experiment, God Knows You’re Amazing, Who’s That Girl?, You Are What You Believe: Discover What Your Spirit Already Knows, LYFSGUD: If God Sent You a Text Message, and He Loves Us and We Love Him. She contributed to Suit Up and Armor Up.

Day grew up in California, Kentucky, and Missouri. She served a full-time mission in the California Riverside Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and her husband, Stephen, married in 2013.
