Marsha Ward: Mormon Author

Marsha Ward is a novelist, writer, editor, and award-winning poet. She is the author of The Owen Family Saga (five novels and one novella) and Scandalous: An Owen Family Story; Bloodied Leather: A Shenandoah Neighbors Story. She also published the Promised Valley series, the Men of Haught Springs series, and the novella Faith and the Foreman, which appears in A Timeless Romance Anthology: Old West Collection. She has written Westerns such as Cottonwood Cowboys; The Usual Game; War Party; Western Stories: Four Tales of the West; No More Strangers: Prose and Poetry Collection. In total, she is the author of over 900 pieces of published work.

Ward lives in Arizona and is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She is a writing mentor, creative consultant, editor, workshop presenter, lecturer, and writing teacher. She founded the American Night Writers Association in 1986. In March 2016 she received the 2015 Whitney Lifetime Achievement Award. Gone for a Soldier was named a finalist in the historical novel category of the 2014 Whitney Awards; Spinster’s Folly was named a finalist in the Western fiction category of the 2014 Whitney Awards and in the category of historical novel in the 2012 Whitney Awards. The Whitney Awards honor outstanding books written by LDS novelists.

She is a member of the American Night Writers Association, the Arizona Professional Writers, Rim Country Chapter, LDSStorymakers, and Western Writers of America.
