Kendra Burton: Mormon Artist
Kendra Parrish Burton is an artist, instructor, and motivational speaker. She is best known for her religious oil painting, “Joseph the Guardian.” She has worked with Linda Curley Christensen on murals for LDS temples in Finland, Panama, Honduras, El Salvador, and Utah (Draper and Oquirrh Mountain). Burton is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She was reared in Pocatello, Idaho, and later lived in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was educated at Brigham Young University and Idaho State University. She worked for seven years designing and drafting in her father’s architectural business.
Burton hosted a series of instructional oil painting programs shown on public television as well as a series of nationally distributed art instruction videos.
She is also a musician and recorded an album with her sisters and competed on the Ted Mack Show and the Eugene Jelesnick Talent Showcase. She has written several songs. She and her husband are the parents of five children.
