Moron is a character briefly mentioned in the
Book of Mormon. In the
Book of Ether, he is noted as being a king over the
Jaredites. His reign is marked by the increasing wickedness of him and his people. He suffered from several rebellions during his reign. The first overtook half his kingdom for an extended period of time before Moron was able to take it back. The second, led by a descendant of the
Brother of Jared, succeeded in overthrowing him for good. He was placed in captivity, where he lived out the rest of his life. While there, he fathered
Coriantor.
Moron is noted in the genealogy of Ether listed in the first chapter of the Book of Ether as being the father of Coriantor and the son of Ethem.[1]
