Following her college graduation with a bachelor’s degree in public health (and a master’s degree in public administration from Fresno State), Steph took an operations role on staff at the University of San Diego in 2016. She played rugby in San Diego with the San Diego Surfers club, and the US national team invited her to train with them and take part in international tours. She reached a point where she had to decide between rugby and coaching basketball.
Steph was born on October 2, 1991, in Reno, Nevada. During high school, she won Nevada Runner of the Year honors in 2008 and was also a Northern Nevada High School Player of the Year in 2010. At BYU she helped the team to a Sweet 16 appearance.
