On October 2, 2022, President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct a second temple in Buenos Aires, Argentina.[1]

The Buenos Aires City Center Argentina Temple will be Argentina's sixth temple. Argentina is home to about 480,000 Latter-day Saints and 729 wards and branches in a country of more than 45 million residents. Buenos Aires is the capital and largest city in Argentina.

The Buenos Aires Argentina Temple was dedicated in 1986, while the Córdoba Argentina Temple was dedicated in 2015 and the Salta Argentina Temple in 2024. Ground was broken for the Mendoza Argentina Temple in late 2020 and for the Bahía Blanca Argentina Temple in early 2022. [2]
