On April 2, 2022, J. Anette Dennis was sustained as first counselor in the Relief Society general presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints effective August 1, 2022.
Sister Dennis has served in many assignments, including the Primary general advisory council, the Church’s Davis County Utah Public Affairs Council, companion to her husband in the Ecuador Guayaquil West Mission, and matron of the Guayaquil Ecuador Temple.
She was born in Provo, Utah, on June 27, 1960, while her parents were students at Brigham Young University. After her father graduated, the family moved next door to her paternal grandparents in rural Mississippi. The family later moved to Tennessee, Iowa, and Nebraska before returning to Utah.
