President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to construct the Vancouver Washington Temple at the October 2023 General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This will be the sixth temple in Washington state, located in the Pacific Northwestern United States, and the second in the Portland metropolitan area.
Temples in operation in Washington include the Columbia River Washington Temple, the Seattle Washington Temple, the Spokane Washington Temple, and the Moses Lake Washington Temple. The Tacoma Washington Temple was announced in October 2022.
Washington is home to more than 280,000 Latter-day Saints across 489 congregations.
