Albert Choules Jr. was a General Authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was sustained to the First Quorum of the Seventy in October 1988, transferred to the Second Quorum in 1989, and released in October 1994.
Choules was born on February 15, 1926, in Driggs, Idaho. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and his MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. During his career, he was briefly a financial analyst for Union Oil Company in Los Angeles. He then worked for Western Savings and Loan in Arizona and was president of Romney International Hotels. In 1976 he and four partners bought the hotel chain. He remained president until his call to preside over the New York New York City Mission. He has also served in the Church as a counselor in a stake presidency, stake president, temple sealer, and regional representative. He was president of the Mesa Arizona Temple after his release as a General Authority.
