The Abuja Nigeria Temple was among the seventeen new temples announced by President Russell M. Nelson during the October 2024 General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.[1] The Abuja Nigeria Temple will be the sixth temple built in the West African country. Abuja is the nation's capital. Church membership in Nigeria is over 232,000 in 810 congregations.[2]
