The Lagos Nigeria Temple is the second temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to be built in Nigeria. It was announced by President Russell M. Nelson on October 7, 2018. The first, the Aba Nigeria Temple, was dedicated in 2005. A third in Benin City was announced in April 2020.

With a population of over 23 million, the Lagos conurbation is the largest in Africa.[1]

There are more than 211,000 Latter-day Saints spread throughout 758 congregations in Nigeria.[2] In 1988, the first stake in Nigeria was organized in Aba.

Location

The Lagos Nigeria Temple is currently in the planning stages. No location has been announced by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
