The Kumasi Ghana Temple is the second temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to be built in Ghana. The first, the Accra Ghana Temple, was dedicated in 2004. President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to build a temple in Kumasi during the 191st Annual General Conference in April 2021.

There are nearly 90,000 Latter-day Saints spread throughout 300 congregations in Ghana. With its beautiful variety of flowers and plants, Kumasi is known as the “Garden City” and is in the southern rain forest region of Ghana.

There are over 96,000 Latter-day Saints spread throughout 341 congregations in Ghana.[1] The first stake in Kumasi was organized in 1998.
