The Lagos Nigeria Temple is the second temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to be built in Nigeria. It was announced by President Russell M. Nelson on October 7, 2018. The first, the Aba Nigeria Temple, was dedicated in 2005. A third in Benin City was announced in April 2020.

With a population of over 23 million, the Lagos conurbation is the largest in Africa.[1]

There are more than 211,000 Latter-day Saints spread throughout 758 congregations in Nigeria.[2] In 1988, the first stake in Nigeria was organized in Aba.
